Pentair Pool Filters

This collection holds 45 Pentair pool filters, split across cartridge (18), sand (14), and D.E. (13) types, spanning models built for inground pools (27) and commercial applications (18). It includes cartridge filters like the Posi-Clear RP and Clean and Clear Plus lines, D.E. filters such as the FullFloXF Q120, FNS Plus, and System:3 PLD Series, and sand filters including the Triton C fiberglass side-mount units and the THS Series horizontal tank for larger commercial systems.

The main decision is filtration area versus available space and maintenance tolerance. Cartridge filters like the Posi-Clear RP 150 and RP 200 (150 and 200 sq ft) offer a No-Tool Lock Ring closure and lower product weight (35 lb), which points toward easier owner servicing. D.E. filters such as the FNS Plus 48 or FullFloXF Q120 filter down to a finer micron rating (D.E. models list 3–5 microns) but require D.E. powder recharges and more clearance. Sand filters like the Triton C and THS Series need substantial sand and pea gravel media (up to 2,800 lb sand on the THS Series) and suit installations where media replacement intervals matter less than flow capacity — the THS Series handles up to 535 GPM.

Within each type, models differ mainly in filtration area and flow rate: the Clean and Clear Plus 320 and 420 run 120–150 GPM design flow, while Triton C sand filters step up from 4.91 sq ft (TR100C) to 7.06 sq ft (TR140C) as tank diameter increases from 30 to 36 in. Warranty terms also vary by model, from 1 year on several cartridge units to 2 years on the D.E. and sand filters listed here, so check the individual spec sheet for the term that applies.
