Pentair Triton® C 36" High Capacity Fiberglass Side Mount Sand Filter TR140C Almond
The Pentair Triton® C 36" High Capacity Fiberglass Side Mount Sand Filter (TR140C) is the larger sibling of the TR100C — a 36-inch diameter commercial sand filter with 7.06 sq ft of filtration area, the same industry-standard Glas®Lok fiberglass construction, and multi-diffuser system for high commercial flow rates. The original and still the industry standard in commercial sand filtration.
Patented Glas®Lok one-piece fiberglass-reinforced tank with UV-resistant surface finish, multi-diffuser for up to 20 GPM per sq ft, standard 3-inch flange connections, 8-inch sand access opening, and full 2-inch drain. Requires 650 lb of sand and 275 lb of pea gravel (not included). ANSI Standard 50 certified. Backed by a 2-year warranty.
Note: Filter sand (650 lb) and pea gravel (275 lb) are not included and must be sourced separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the TR140C (36") and the TR100C (30")?
Both are Pentair Triton C commercial sand filters with Glas®Lok construction, multi-diffuser systems, and 3-inch flange connections. The TR140C is the larger 36-inch model with 7.06 sq ft of filtration area and requires 650 lb of sand + 275 lb of pea gravel. The TR100C is the 30-inch model with 4.91 sq ft and requires 450 lb of sand + 150 lb of pea gravel. Choose the TR140C when your pool's flow rate demands exceed the TR100C's capacity.
Is a multiport valve included?
No. The TR140C is the filter tank only. A compatible Pentair or third-party 3-inch flange multiport valve must be purchased separately. Your pool professional can advise on the appropriate valve for this tank.
How often does the sand need to be replaced?
In commercial applications, filter sand typically lasts 5–7 years before it becomes worn and loses filtration effectiveness. The 8-inch access opening makes sand changes more manageable than tanks with smaller openings.
