Filter (S7MD72) brings the proven System:3 modular technology to D.E. filtration — delivering the finest pool water clarity with dramatically simplified maintenance. When cleaning is needed, simply remove the filter lid and hose off the module in place. No grid assembly teardown. No complex disassembly. The balanced flow design maintains a constant D.E. cake across the entire module for full optimization and longer cycles between cleanings.

How does the System:3 Modular D.E. differ from the System:2 PLD Series D.E. filter?
Both are Sta-Rite modular D.E. filters. The System:3 S7MD72 uses the larger Dura-Glas® System:3 tank platform at 72 sq ft — suited for larger pools — while the System:2 PLDE48 is the smaller compact design at 48 sq ft. The System:3 uses Posi-Lok™ clamps for access; the System:2 uses the Posi-Ring® closure. Both feature hose-off module cleaning without grid teardowns and carry a 2-year warranty.
Does this filter require backwashing?
