How is the System:2 D.E. filter different from a conventional D.E. filter?
A conventional D.E. filter uses multiple separate grid elements that must be removed and cleaned individually during annual teardowns. The System:2 uses a single one-piece D.E. grid that lifts out as a complete unit — significantly simplifying service. The Posi-Ring closure provides tool-free access, and the modular tank allows future media changes without tank replacement.
What is the difference between the System:2 and the System:3?
The System:3 (S7M120) uses modular media elements for general cartridge-style filtration; the System:2 PLD Series uses a D.E. grid element for D.E.-level filtration. The System:2 is also smaller and more compact — a narrower tank suited for tighter installations. Both share the balanced flow design and modular tank concept introduced with the System:3 platform.
