Both are Pentair FullFloXF filters with up to 25% energy efficiency improvement. The C620 is a pure cartridge filter at 620 sq ft / 150 GPM with a 1-year warranty. The Q120 is a cartridge-style D.E. filter at 120 sq ft / 180 GPM with a 2-year warranty and D.E. media requirement. The Q120 delivers D.E.-level filtration (finer particle removal) while the C620 offers maximum cartridge area and longer cleaning intervals without D.E. powder.
How much D.E. is needed and when is it added?
The FullFloXF Q120 requires 12 lb of D.E. powder at initial startup and after each cleaning cycle. Add D.E. through the skimmer while the pump is running — it flows through the plumbing and coats the filter elements. Always use pool-grade diatomaceous earth.
