The Pentair Clean & Clear® Plus 320 Sq Ft Cartridge Filter delivers high-capacity cartridge filtration with no backwashing required. The corrosion-resistant, fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene tank houses four polyester cartridge elements totaling 320 sq ft of filter area — handling up to 120 GPM at up to 50 PSI. To clean, simply remove the cartridges and rinse with a garden hose.

How does the 320 sq ft model differ from the 420 sq ft CCP420?
Both are Clean & Clear Plus four-cartridge filters. The CCP320 (this model) is rated for 120 GPM and pools up to 86,400 gallons at a 12-hour turnover. The CCP420 is rated for 150 GPM and pools up to 108,000 gallons. Choose the 320 for pools in the 40,000–86,000 gallon range; choose the 420 for larger pools or where additional capacity is preferred.
How often do the cartridges need cleaning?
Clean when the pressure gauge reads 8–10 PSI above the clean starting pressure. For most residential pools this is every 2–6 months depending on pool size and bather load. Simply remove the four cartridges and rinse with a garden hose.
Does this filter require backwashing?
No. Cartridge filters do not backwash. To clean, open the filter, remove the four cartridges, and rinse them with a garden hose. This saves significant water compared to sand or DE filter backwashing.
