The Hayward Pro Series 24" Side Mount Sand Filter with 1.5" VariFlo™ Control Valve (S244S) is a complete sand filter system — compact 24-inch tank and 1-1/2 inch VariFlo control valve included. The ProSeries uses a precision-engineered umbrella-fold self-cleaning lateral system for efficient flow and evenly distributed water, delivering balanced backwashing and long-lasting performance.
Built with durable corrosion-proof materials, large pressure sand/water drain for rapid winterizing or servicing, and injection-molded polymer base. Suitable for in-ground pools, spas, ponds, and water features. Backed by a 1-year warranty.

How does the S244S (24") compare to the S310T2 (30")?
Both are Hayward Pro Series complete sand filter systems with VariFlo valve included. The S244S is the smaller 24-inch side-mount model with 3.14 sq ft filtration area and a 1-1/2 inch valve — suited for smaller pools and spas. The S310T2 is the 30-inch top-mount model with 4.91 sq ft and a 2-inch valve, better for larger pools with higher flow rates.
Is filter sand included?
No. Filter sand must be sourced locally. Consult the owner's manual for the specific sand amount required for the S244S.
