What chemicals does IntelliChem control?
IntelliChem monitors and controls pH (via acid dosing with the included acid tank and pump) and sanitizer levels (ORP-based, compatible with chlorine, salt chlorine generators like IntelliChlor, and other sanitizing systems). A separate chemical feeder or dosing pump is needed for the sanitizer side if not using IntelliChlor.
Does it work without Pentair automation?
Yes. IntelliChem can operate as a standalone chemical controller independently of any automation system. Its integration with IntelliTouch, EasyTouch, SunTouch, and ScreenLogic2 is optional but provides enhanced monitoring and control.
What is the Langelier Saturation Index?
The Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) is a calculation used to determine whether pool water is balanced, scale-forming, or corrosive. IntelliChem's built-in LSI calculator accounts for pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, temperature, and TDS to give you a complete picture of water balance — not just sanitizer and pH levels alone.
What does the flow sensor do?
The flow sensor detects whether the pump is running and water is circulating. IntelliChem will not dose chemicals without confirmed flow — preventing concentrated chemical damage to equipment or surfaces if the pump is off.
Is this compatible with salt water pools?
Yes. IntelliChem is fully compatible with IntelliChlor salt chlorine generators and can integrate sanitizer output control with pH management for a complete automated water chemistry solution in salt water pools.
