How does the HCC 1000 differ from the CAT 1000 pH Controller Package?
Both are single-channel pH-only controllers. The HCC 1000 is Hayward's newer, more affordable model and includes a chemical feed pump pre-mounted on the backboard — making it a fully turnkey package. The CAT 1000 is the higher-end model with a 5-year controller warranty, Teflon-junction sensor, diagnostic self-test, and NSF/ANSI 50 certification. The HCC 1000 is the right choice for straightforward salt water or chlorine pool pH automation at a more accessible price.
Does it control ORP/sanitizer as well as pH?
No. The HCC 1000 is a pH-only controller. It monitors and controls pH via acid dosing but does not include ORP monitoring or sanitizer control. For combined pH and ORP control, see the HCC 2000 series.
